Mission
The Vermont Birth Center Coalition is a collaboration of healthcare providers, individuals, businesses, and organizations, who are working to support licensure of freestanding birth centers in Vermont.
About the VBCC
The Vermont Birth Center Coalition (VBCC) was founded in 2022 in response to an unmet need for freestanding birth centers in Vermont. VBCC is working to create a pathway to license and regulate independently owned freestanding birth centers in Vermont to support choices for birthing people and families.
Together, we:
Support access to high quality birthing care for all Vermonters.
Recognize that birthing people and families who have a safe, inclusive, and welcoming birth atmosphere will have better birth experiences and outcomes.
Encourage the creation of healthcare center-based teams to help Vermonters create safe and loving birth experiences.
Believe in collaborative partnerships with nearby hospitals for those who need their services before or during labor.
